San Angelo ISD Teachers and Staff Participate in Annual 3-Day Professional Learning Conference

Over 750 San Angelo ISD educators came together for three days of professional learning during our fifth annual Learning Palooza from July 20 to July 22, 2021. During the conference, teachers and staff had the opportunity to attend 237 sessions to discuss best practices in instruction, content, classroom management, future-ready learners, technology and so much more to help our educators prepare for the upcoming school year. Learning Palooza provides our educators with the opportunity to come together in collaboration to learn about designing engaging work for our students that reflects our SAISD Learner and Educator profile. The Learner Profile outlines characteristics students need to be future ready and proficient communicators, collaborators, creators, and critical thinkers.

Many of these sessions were taught by San Angelo ISD teachers and staff; other sessions were led by presenters from strong educational partnerships with successful educational researchers on best instructional practices including Scholastic and Math Solutions.

SAISD is committed to providing our staff with opportunities to continuously improve themselves and their profession. “This year’s Learning Palooza had a record high participation which is a testament to our staff’s commitment to learning and growing to best serve our students. At San Angelo ISD, our people truly make the difference. We are appreciative of the efforts of all staff members and departments. Teamwork allows us to provide high quality professional learning to this degree,” stated Dr. Farrah Gomez, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Professional Learning.
